You’ve probably seen or heard some of these new words lately: “AI slop,” “agentic,” “superintelligence,” “AI psychosis,” or “algorithmic governance”. They may sound strange or technical, but they’re not really about machines. They’re about us—our minds, our attention, and a new culture shift in who gets to decide what’s real.

This special edition of Darker Details is your Human Value Glossary, a living field guide to the language of artificial intelligence and its growing reach into everyday life. As of today’s posting it has more than 50 terms and I’ll be updating it as more terms enter our vocabulary.

Each term is decoded into plain human language, no hype, no jargon, no panic, just clarity. Because once you understand the words, you start to see the system.
